1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using TrustLance ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

TrustLance is an online marketplace that connects freelancers ("Freelancers") with individuals or businesses seeking freelance services ("Clients"). TrustLance provides tools for job posting, proposals, contracts, payments, and communication between users.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when registering.

4. Freelancer and Client Obligations

Freelancers agree to deliver work in good faith and in accordance with agreed project terms. Clients agree to provide clear project requirements and to pay for completed work as agreed. TrustLance is not a party to the underlying agreement between Freelancers and Clients and does not guarantee the quality, legality, or outcome of any work performed.

5. Payments and Fees

Payments made through the Platform may be held in escrow until milestones or deliverables are approved. TrustLance may charge service fees on transactions, which will be disclosed prior to completion of a transaction. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or expressly stated in these Terms.

6. Trust Scores and Reviews

TrustLance may display trust scores, ratings, or reviews to help users evaluate one another. These scores are generated based on platform activity and user feedback and are provided for informational purposes only.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Platform to: violate any law; harass or defraud other users; circumvent the Platform's payment system to avoid fees; post false, misleading, or infringing content; or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform's systems.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise agreed between Freelancer and Client, ownership of work product transfers upon full payment. TrustLance retains all rights to its own trademarks, branding, and platform technology.

9. Disputes

TrustLance may offer tools to help resolve disputes between Freelancers and Clients but is not obligated to mediate or adjudicate disputes. Users are encouraged to resolve disagreements directly and in good faith.

10. Limitation of Liability

TrustLance is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, TrustLance shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

11. Termination

TrustLance reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at its discretion, including for violations of these Terms.
